During the 2018 Design Matters Conference in Seattle this past November, a number of long-time AAO members voiced their interest in establishing a committee to exchange timely updates and information concerning traveling exhibitions suitable for display at AAO member sites.
AAO Board member and Executive Director of AIA New York/Center for Architecture Benjamin Prosky will chair this ad hoc committee, which is open to all current AAO members.
Meetings will be convened as online chats using GoToMeeting. Meetings are open enrollment, but participants must RSVP in advance. When you register, you will be asked if you simply plan to listen, or if you also wish to present information to the group—a limited number of presenter slots will be available for every meeting. Presentations must address one of the two following categories:
- Introduction of a new exhibit produced by your organization that you are either preparing for travel to other venues or that you believe could be suitable for display at other AAO member sites.
- Sharing general information about a current traveling exhibition produced by a third party that you think a compelling topic and suitable for display at AAO member sites.
The inaugural meeting will take place Friday, February 22 from 11:00am-12:30pm Central Time.
