Architectural Foundation of Cincinnati

The Architectural Foundation of Cincinnati enriches the Greater Cincinnati community by connecting people with the places where we live, learn, work and play. Through our outreach activities, we inspire public engagement in shaping the built environment.
 
Our core programs are as follows:
 
Apple Award : The Harris and Alice Weston Apple Award is given annually to an individual or organization that best enriches our built environment.
 
Architecture By Children : ABC is a school based education program serving more than fifty schools and jointly sponsored by AFC and AIA Cincinnati.
 
Architreks:  Cincinnati Walks : Architreks is an architecturally based walking tour in some of Cincinnati’s most fascinating neighborhoods. Architreks is a volunteer organization operating May through October. Jointly sponsored by AFC and the Cincinnati Preservation Association.
 
Biographical Dictionary of Cincinnati Architects : The AFC Biographical Dictionary of Cincinnati Architects complied by Walter E. Langsam and Alice Weston provides valuable information about leading Cincinnati architects and the city’s architectural history.
 
Hammer Award : The Hammer Award is given annually by AFC to recognize outstanding individual contributions to the profession.
 
Publications : AFC has published a number of books and guides available for purchase.
