Urban Design Forum seeks a full-time Development Manager. We’re searching for an early-to-mid-career professional excited to join a small, fast-growing team. You will support the growth of our organization, coordinate institutional giving efforts, manage grants, support major events, and assist with special projects.
Development Management – Assists Executive Director with annual fundraising plans, proposes and cultivates new development prospects, tracks contributions, and supports donor recognition efforts.
Institutional Giving – Identifies grants and corporate giving programs to fund programs and general operating expenses, prepares meeting briefs, and assists Executive Director in submissions.
Grant Management – Leads grant reporting, tracks giving, manages funder relationships, and writes program evaluations as required.
Major Giving Programs – Supports the Director of Member Engagement to lead annual fundraising events and other special events with distinguished civic leaders.
Special Projects – Assists with operations and special projects as required.
Deep commitment to and passion for addressing urban inequity.
Broad curiosity on issues in the built environment, including housing, economic development, mobility, and climate.
Excellent communication skills and ability to represent the organization to partners and members.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Experience in grant writing and/or nonprofit communications.
Experience in event production is a plus.
Familiarity in Adobe Creative Suite and/or Salesforce is a plus.
Bachelor’s Degree and 3-6 years of relevant work experience; or a Master’s Degree and 2-6 years of relevant work experience.

Location & Schedule
This position will report to our New York City-based office. Employees are expected to work in our office three days per week, and invited to work remotely two days per week. We also offer several weeks per year when every staff member is welcome to work remotely. We host events on nights and weekends and offer flexible scheduling when staff are expected to work at those times.
Compensation & Benefits
We offer salary bands commensurate with the candidate’s experience: $57,500 – 65,000 for 2-3 years of experience or $67,500 – 80,000 for 4-6 years of experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, vacation, professional development and retirement benefits.
