General Position Description
The Leadership Associate ensures that APA chapters and Chapter Presidents Council (CPC) are supported as necessary to enhance efficiency in their leadership roles. This position works closely with the governing bodies of 47 chapters and the CPC and its committees.

Duties and responsibilities:
Chapter Administration and Support
- Serve as primary staff liaison to chapters and their officers, communicating the interests of chapters to staff and other member and leadership groups.
- Help as needed relative to all operations of the chapters including bylaws, budgets, elections, conferences, program development plans, newsletters and other communication tools, and officer development.
- Maintain electronic communications with the CPC, update chapters via electronic communications with news and developments from APA National.
- Update all data for chapter and section officers; ensuring a process is in place for all necessary changes to occur.
- Maintenance of archival information and reference files for chapters.
- Staff various CPC committees and task forces as needed including coordinating conference calls; ensuring project schedules are met; developing and mailing materials and correspondence; coordinating communication between committees and other members of leadership.
- Provide monthly membership rosters for chapters, including specially requested rosters.
- Coordinate with other staff on APA/component annual elections.
- Support development and maintenance of chapter websites on APA's web hosting platform.
- Support networks of members at the chapter level, including chapter legislative advocacy networks, and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion programs, among others.
Council Governance and Programs
- Coordination of meetings with the CPC Executive Committee, the CPC and the committees of the council.
- Coordination of the biennial election process in conjunction with the CPC Nominating Committee.
- Administer the annual grants and awards programs of the CPC.
- Support the orientation, training and leadership development of members of the council, and development of orientation materials.
Skills and Talents Needed:

- Strong organization skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously required.
Qualifications (Education and Experience)
- Undergraduate degree required. A minimum of 2-4 years of relevant work experience is required.
- Ability to work with a variety of member leadership groups, and senior staff required.
- Association experience preferred.
- Fluent and comfortable working with a variety of technologies, including Office 365, SharePoint, OneDrive. Knowledge of online communities of Higher Logic, and Content Management Systems like Wagtail, Django is preferred.
- Experience editing, creating, and distributing e-newsletters via marketing automation software like Real Magnet preferred.
- Experience using association management software such as iMIS desired.
