The Rice Design Alliance, formed in 1972, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of architecture, urban design, and the built environment in the Houston region through educational programs, the publication of Cite: The Architecture + Design Review of Houston and blog OffCite, and programs to initiate physical improvements. RDA includes members from diverse backgrounds, including architects and designers, city planners and developers, real estate agents, community activists, artists, and civic-minded individuals. What we share is a commitment to engaging with our community and enhancing quality of life through education, discussion, and innovation. Though Rice University is the physical home of the organization, RDA includes scholars and students from the University of Houston, Prairie View A&M University, and other institutions. Support for RDA comes from individuals, corporate sponsorships, and foundations, including the Houston Arts Alliance, Texas Commission for the Arts, and National Endowment for the Arts.
