As part of the 2014 A+DEN Symposium, Barry Kudrowicz (University of Minnesota, College of Design) provided an introductory workshop that started out by covering a number of best practices on conducting brainstorming and group problem solving sessions and then transitioned into a hands-on building session that asked participants to dream up opportunities for embedding technology into structures. The workshop combined traditional model-making materials with easy-to-use sensors and motors from littleBits. This presentation is a useful primer for educators interested in incorporating more technology into their K-12 architecture education lessons, or just looking for new activities and ice-breakers/bell-ringers to facilitate group interaction.
